Hi guys! If you are looking for a fun, but easy textured crochet stitch, then you’re in the right place. In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to crochet the spider stitch using a combination of single crochets and chain stitches.
This stitch is beautiful! It creates a lacy, but dense fabric with minimal holes and tons of texture.
About the Spider Stitch:
We are going to start with a foundation row of single crochets. You can also start with a row of half double crochets, double crochets, or any stitch you’d like. Just make sure that the foundation row has an odd number of stitches.
The traditional spider stitch is a (sc, ch 1, sc), but sometimes the ch-1 can be hard to find. So, I modified the stitch to make it easier – we replace the ch-1 with a ch-2. If you’d to stick to the traditional spider stitch, ch-1 whenever you see a ch-2.
The tutorial ends with a final row that “squares” off the edge to make it straight.
